Ship pilot ladder

The Pilot ladder designed to for embarking or disembarking of pilots. It made of hardwood (hornbeam) steps made in one piece, free of knots. The four lowest steps are made of rubber. The length of the ladder is maximum 9 meters. Side ropes are made of manila rope in diameter 18 mm.The ladder must be check regularly in every month. Special attention should be paid to the plastic stoppers and seizing. Checking of seizing and steps must be done by hand, if there is damaged step and loosed seizing. Loosed seizing must be tightened and damaged steps must be replaced with spare ones, according to the replacement instruction.Maximum two replacement steps are is allowed. Pilot ladder should have no more than two replacement steps. Any steps so secured should be replaced as soon as reasonably practicable by steps secured in position by the method used in the original construction of the pilot ladder
